WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com – Presiden AS Donald Trump emphasized, he promised to hinder efforts China re-embed the effect in the application TikTok.
His comments gave rise to the notion that the agreement that took place last weekend was just an attempt to prevent the application from being banned there.
The “deal” that occurred involved ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, as well as one of the technology giants in Silicon Valley, Oracle.

Later, Oracle will act as a data partner, with retail company Walmart also taking part as TikTok Global.
However, the details of the agreement are still a mystery, with the issue of discussing how much profit sharing in the new company will be.
More importantly, who will get full control over the data and algorithms, whether China or the US.
To Fox News, Trump made sure he would not allow ByteDance to come to power, and would cancel it if that scenario happened.
“Oracle and Walmart will be in full power. If we find that they have no power, then I will not bless the deal,” he said.
ByteDance, which is under Beijing pressure to disobey the United States, said it would secure 80 percent of its shares if it took the floor on the stock exchange.

They claim the deal does not include the transfer of any algorithms and data, and insists the reports are just rumors.
However, as reported AFP Monday (9/21/2020), Oracle through vice president Ken Glueck gave a different explanation.
“During the establishment of TikTok Global, Walmart / Oracle will invest in profits only given to the owner,” he said.
Glueck said the US company would be the majority, with ByteDance not going to get ownership status.
The video sharing application, which is now a trend among the world’s young generation, is one of the sources of heating up China and the West.
Trump then accused the application of endangering US national security because it was used as a data collection tool by Beijing’s intelligence.
