On the 13th (local time), the US House of Representatives passed a bill for impeachment of President Trump asking for responsibility for agitation to invade the Capitol with 232 people in favor and 197 people against it. All 222 Democrats and 10 Republican lawmakers stood in favor of impeachment.

Trump’s impeachment proceeding is the second time after the’Ukrainian scandal’ at the end of 2019. The House of Representatives impeached President Trump in his speech before the protesters, insisting that he would not have a country anymore, insisting that he would no longer have a country if he did not fight fiercely. Democratic House Representative Stern Heuer appealed to join the impeachment, saying, “It is not too late to do the right thing yet.”

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who led the impeachment, stressed that “the US president is not above the law,” and “Donald Trump is a clear and existing threat to our country,” before signing the impeachment bill. The lectern Pelosi used that day had been seized during the congressional invasion and returned to its place. On that day, President Trump criticized the violence instead of attacking the impeachment proceedings.

Now the ball goes to the Senate. When Chairman Pelosi sends the bill of impeachment to the Senate, the Senate enters the impeachment hearing process. Due to the non-cooperation of the Republican Party, it is unlikely that the impeachment could be handled in the Senate during President Trump’s term. In order for the impeachment to be finalized, the approval of two-thirds of the members of the Senate is required.
