The accident happened on the ground in Pitztal in Austria, confirms national team doctor Marc Strauss to VG. Reginiussen fell and suffered a broken back during training with Ragnhild Mowinckel.
The hill is about an hour’s drive from Sölden, where there was a grand slalom opening for the women on Saturday. The Reginius was picked up by helicopter.

Reginiussen was admitted to hospital in Zams on Saturday night, and will most likely undergo surgery on Monday.
– He is fine and can partly move around a bit, but we try to protect him a bit, Strauss says, and states that he spoke with Reginiussen no later than Saturday night.
– He is fine, talks to the family and has good function in both arms and legs.
Key person
Reginiussen had been part of the alpine national team for 14 years when in 2015 he became a manual therapist for men.
During this period he became nationally known when he with intensive treatment got Kjetil Andre Aamodt on his feet again before he took Olympic gold in super-G in 2006. Reginiussen is the uncle of Rosenborg star Tore Reginiussen, Ranheim player Mads Reginiussen and Alta player Christian Reginiussen.
Since joining the men’s national team, Reginiussen has stepped down from the national team job, but he still works with, among others, Ragnhild Mowinckel. She did not participate in Saturday’s race, but stated in an interview with TV 2 on Friday that she is working really hard with the comeback after her second cruciate ligament injury last autumn.
