Effective February 1, 2021, Trinseo (Berwyn, Pennsylvania / USA) is demanding further surcharges for styrenics and polycarbonate. For PS-GP (“Styron” brand) and PS-HI (“Styron”, “Styron A-Tech”, “Styron C-Tech” and “Styron X-Tech”) price increases of 40 EUR / t are planned, such as the company reports.
It is planning significantly higher increases for the currently poorly available materials ABS (“Magnum”) and polycarbonate (“Caliber”) – here the prices are to be increased by EUR 200 / t each. The styrene reference rose by EUR 24 / t in February 2021 compared to the previous month. Butadiene fell by 25 EUR / t and ACN saw a premium of 104 EUR / t.
