The reconstruction – According to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri of Vedelago and the provincial command of Treviso, the woman, a 31-year-old from Fanzolo di Vedelgo, had left the house with the baby in her arms around 19, to join her parents for dinner, in a locality not far away. Not seeing her arrive, the relatives were alarmed and went out to look for her. Only at 10.30 pm, the sister tracked down the car, parked and empty, near the bridge, about twenty meters high, and asked for help.
Having identified the two bodies, firefighters and carabinieri descended on the shore: while the 31-year-old lay lifeless, the child was injured and in a state of hypothermia, but alive. “I thought there was nothing to do, but as soon as he was wrapped in blankets he immediately moved and cried”, said the 118 operator who rescued him. According to the investigation, the mother was going through a difficult period, even if, after an initial reconstruction, no particular family and work problems emerge.
