New Apartments Bring Revitalization to Trenton‘s Clinton Corner
A new 30-unit apartment building, Clinton Lofts, is set to officially open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 4th at 10:00 a.m. at its location on the corner of South Clinton and Hamilton Avenues.Trenton mayor Reed Gusciora will lead the event.
The development, situated near the Roebling Market and Trenton Transit Center, aims to inject new life into a previously vacant lot. Mayor Gusciora hailed the project as “a meaningful step forward in expanding access to quality housing in our city.” He further emphasized that Clinton Lofts, a recipient of the 2025 Smart Growth Award, “transforms a long-vacant and prominent corner site into vibrant mixed-use housing and creative space,” and will become “a place where people live, grow, and contribute to a stronger community.”
Clinton Lofts was developed and built by DRM-Trenton Urban Renewal LP as part of the City-sponsored Roebling-Gateway Redevelopment Plan. The architectural design was completed by Clarke Caton Hintz, a local firm, and construction was financed by First Bank. The ownership group comprises matt Faircloth, Founder and CEO of The DeRosa Group; mark fedorov of White Dog properties; and Roland Pott of Trenton Makes, Inc. New Jersey Future’s Executive Director, peter Kasabach, praised the project, stating, “Clinton Lofts is an excellent example of the kind of smart, community-centered development that reflects the future we want for New Jersey.” He highlighted its success in converting a vacant lot into walkable, transit-kind housing, demonstrating effective collaboration between public and private sectors.
Leasing is now open, and prospective tenants are encouraged to apply. Move-ins are anticipated to begin shortly after the first week of September. The ribbon-cutting ceremony itself is a private,invitation-only event. Formal recognition of the Smart Growth Award will take place at New Jersey Future’s annual awards ceremony this October.
