The unusual solution for traveling in a pandemic situation has been created by the Australian airline “Qantas”, which offers a flight to “nowhere” – the main purpose of this flight is to enjoy the flight experience, not to get to a specific destination.
–
Qantas recently announced plans for a seven-hour domestic flight, which will offer passengers the opportunity to have a good time, as well as view Queensland and New South Wales from the sky through the windows of the plane.
–
During the flights, passengers will also be provided with various entertainment, which will be led by well-known people.
–
Qantas will operate “flight experience” flights with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which are commonly used by the airline for transcontinental flights.
–
Due to the pandemic, the number of international flights from Australia is minimal, so Qantas’ international fleet is currently idle.
–
Qantas emphasizes that the Dreamliner aircraft have large windows that allow passengers to watch Australia from an altitude of about 9,000 meters.
–
The Sydney-Sydney Qantas flight will take place on October 10 and will last approximately seven hours.
–
134 tickets ranging from A $ 787 to A $ 3,787 were offered for this unusual flight. According to the airline, all tickets for this flight were sold within ten minutes.
–
Qantas is not the first and only airline to offer similar flights without a specific destination during limited air traffic.
–
On August 8, the recreational flight to nowhere was operated by the Taiwanese airline EVA Air.
–
Meanwhile, the Japanese airline All Nipon Airways offered its passengers an entertainment flight that lasted an hour and a half, during which the passengers were created in the atmosphere of a Hawaiian resort.
–
Similar flights are also planned by South Korean and Singapore airlines.
–
From an environmental point of view, such pointless flights are not the best idea, as they involve pointless fuel consumption.
