Traveling abroad: Where can you go? (INFOGRAPHICS)

Labeling a country as risky does not mean that Germans cannot travel to it, but the federal government as well as the individual German Länder recommend that people avoid these regions if possible. Travel from high-risk areas to Germany is also not banned, but people have to reckon with restrictions.



Czech government traffic light

The Czech Republic applies the so – called traffic lightswhen evaluating countries according to the degree of risk of coronavirus infection. Only in high-risk countries do Czechs have to prove a negative test on their return or go to a 14-day quarantine.

The government’s “traffic light” is list of “countries safe for travel” divided into three categories (low, medium and high risk of infection). The “traffic light” falls under the administration of the Ministry of Health and is regular updated according to developments in individual states.

What about traveling in practice

Number of countries where you can travel without any problems, may therefore be smaller than indicated by a “traffic light” published by the government. Argentina

The borders were supposed to open on September 1, but it is already clear that there will be at least a two-month delay.

Brazil

President Bolsonaro has repeatedly stated that he does not consider COVID-19 to be a major problem, and the country’s approach to tourism corresponds to this. The borders are open and tourists should not expect any significant restrictions on arrival.

Egypt

From September 1, anyone who comes to Egypt will have to submit a negative test for coronavirus. This was announced by the Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbúlí. The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends Czechs to travel to the country only when necessary.

Ecuador

Entry into the country is possible with a negative test for COVID-19, additional preventive weekly isolation is mandatory.

United Arab Emirates

The possibility of arrival of tourists only for the emirate of Dubai. It is necessary to apply for a visa, have travel insurance and fill in the data in the tracing application COVID-19 DXB app.

Maldives

Must be filled out on the websites of the local authorities medical card. Obligation to have a confirmed reservation on arrival at a registered hotel. However, the local epidemiological situation is deteriorating sharply.

Tunisia

Czechs who go to the country with travel agencies will not have to prove themselves with a negative test for coronavirus.

Germany

Germany is placing Prague on the list of risk areas due to the deteriorating situation regarding the coronavirus pandemic since Thursday, September 10. The borders between the two countries will not be closed, a test will be necessary. The Germans also take the Central Bohemian Region as a risk area.

Belgium

Belgium placed Prague in the red category. People arriving in the country from Prague must undergo a fortnight’s quarantine and undergo a COVID-19 test. Belgian epidemiologists decided on the measure on September 8. The rest of the Czech Republic was included in the orange category, quarantine and test are only recommended.

Great Britain

Britain has been placing the Czech Republic on its quarantine list since Saturday, August 29. People who come to Britain from the Czech Republic after Saturday 05:00 Central European Summer Time will have to isolate themselves for 14 days.

Austria

Czechs can travel to Austria without restrictions. As of Friday, July 24, Austria is reintroducing the obligation to wear veils and restrict entry into the territory of the country.

Poland

From June 29 without restrictions.

Greece

Original tightening of travel rules, which also affected the citizens of the Czech Republic, has now eased in Greece. Prime Minister Babiš said that the country would remove the Czechia from the list of countries whose citizens are obliged to submit a test for coronavirus when entering Greece. The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also reportedly working on a plan to return to free travel to Greece from September 1.

Croatia

Upon arrival, all you have to do is fill in a form that provides personal information and answers a few questions about COVID-19. No test is needed. Czechs can get to Croatia comfortably by car, bus or plane. RegioJet has prepared i direct train connection.

Bulgaria

It is not necessary to prove a negative test for COVID-19 or to undergo quarantine. Tourism is allowed, at the airport passengers are checked using thermal cameras.

Hungary

Hungary will close its borders to foreigners for at least one month from 1 September to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Exceptions will be military convoys, humanitarian transit or trade or diplomatic channels. However, Czechs who booked a stay in Hungary before September 1 will be allowed to travel to the country if they have an up-to-date negative test for covid-19.

Cyprus

Cyprus has reclassified the Czechia from category A, which are countries from which passengers do not have to submit a negative coronavirus test upon arrival, to category B. Czechs, together with passengers from other countries, will have to prove themselves with a maximum three-day-old negative test from 6 July. The revised categorization of states has been published by the Cypriot Ministry of Health, the in-cyprus website informed.

Slovenia

Slovenia has again ranked the Czechia among the medium-risk countries in terms of the risk of coronavirus infection. After entering the country, a two-week quarantine is mandatory for the Czechs, with a few exceptions. If they are just passing through the country, the restriction does not apply to them, but transit must not exceed 12 hours.

Spain

From August 24, Czech citizens are obliged to take a test or quarantine when returning to the Czech Republic. From 14 September, this will also apply to the Canary Islands.
