Travelers began to attract first-minute tours with discounts more than ever before

“In recent years, discounts for early bookings – ie first minute tours – amounted to a maximum of thirty percent. Hoteliers have now become even cheaper, so discounts reach up to forty percent, “said Jan Papež, vice-president of the Association of Travel Agencies. First minutes usually last from autumn to the end of the year, sometimes until February.

“Contracts with almost all about seven hundred required hotels have already been signed, tours will be cheaper. Hotels are not in an easy situation, but they cannot lose clients. The prices will be lower by hundreds of crowns to thousands, “said the owner of CK Blue Style Imed Jeddai.

A similar trend was recorded by Čedok, which therefore increased the total capacity of tours for next summer by a tenth. “Of course, the most expensive hotels became the most affordable,” added Petr Šatný, spokesman for the Alexandria Travel Agency.

The travel agencies Exim Tours and Fischer, which now belong to the same owner – the German group Rewe – will start selling first-minute tours in October. They have already concluded contracts with more than ninety percent of the required, usually seaside hotels.

“The highest discounts climb to 43 percent. Compared to last year, there was a significant increase in hotels, which usually became cheaper by ten percent, “says company spokesman Petr Kostka. The price went down mainly by Italians and Spaniards, ie hoteliers from destinations that were hit hardest by the pandemic.

“It depends on the specific destination and directly on the hotel, for example, what his season was like this year. First minute tours will be cheaper than before, hotels are becoming cheaper across the most popular countries, “added Jan Bezděk, spokesman for Fischer Travel Agency.

The final price of the tours will depend on many other factors, including survival or the collapse of the air carrier Smartwings, with which the travel agents negotiate the terms of cooperation for next season. “We are negotiating with travel agencies about capacities for the summer season, we will not comment on the conditions of the business relationship,” said Smartwings spokeswoman Vladimíra Dufková.

The first wave of coronavirus was resisted in full force by the Czech autoland. The second goes weakening

If the carrier will fly, prices will not change significantly, the Pope assumes. However, if it were replaced by foreign competitors, there would be complications for travelers. “It would depend on the strategy of the carriers. Some occupy the plane mostly with travel agency clients, some only with a minority of seats, so prices would vary significantly, “said the Pope.

In addition to the koruna exchange rate and aviation fuel prices, the final form of travel will also be affected by the future form of coronavirus-related government regulations. For example, the obligation to submit a negative test for an illness costs 1,750 crowns.

“In other countries, such as Germany, the tests are free. Why are we charged for such a rocket? We strive for an audited and consumer-friendly price. If the government buys something for ten, why does it sell for sixty? Why does the consumer have to subsidize it? ”Jeddai wonders.
