Trautmann Shakes Up Santander Chile Board Amid Executive Departures

Santander Chile‍ Undergoes Commercial Banking Restructuring Under⁣ New CEO Andrés ⁤Trautmann

SANTIAGO ‌- Banco Santander Chile is implementing a​ significant restructuring of its commercial banking ‍operations under the ⁢leadership of recently​ appointed ‍CEO Andrés Trautmann, who took the helm ⁣in july, succeeding Román Blanco. The changes involve a departmental split⁣ and⁢ new leadership appointments, signaling ⁤a strategic shift in the bankS approach to serving companies⁣ and ‍institutions.

Previously unified under the position​ held⁢ by Luis ​Araya, the ⁢commercial areas for companies and⁢ institutions will now operate as independent​ departments. Nicolás Trajtman, a 12-year veteran of ⁢Santander and former manager of ‍large companies, will lead the Commercial​ Department of Companies. Harken Jensen, with‌ a⁤ 16-year career at the bank including a role ‍as manager of real Estate and Construction‌ Banking, will head Comercial Institutions.

marco ⁣Cauduro will continue to lead the Customer sector, bringing over seven years of experience with the bank, including‍ prior leadership of⁣ the⁣ small and medium-sized enterprise⁣ (SME) segment.

Trautmann’s appointment follows his previous ⁤role as executive vice president of Santander⁣ Corporate‌ & Investment Banking (CIB).⁣ Before ‌returning to Chile, he spent⁢ six years ⁢with Santander in london ​and five years⁣ at Goldman Sachs in ​New York,⁢ directing emerging markets sales.

Key objectives for Trautmann include continued growth in lending to both individuals and companies, leveraging the ‌expansion of the ⁤Getnet acquirers network. ‌The bank is also focused on ‌finalizing ⁢a new agreement with Latam to bolster its​ loyalty program and⁤ drive increased use of Santander cards.
