Trapped with blind date in lockdown

China has, as before in the pandemic, worked hard to put down minor outbreaks in the country in recent times.

In the million-strong city of Zhengzhou, 13 million people were asked to test themselves, and parts of the city have been subject to lockdown, after a few cases were discovered.

Longer than planned

Wang, who is not mentioned by full name, had plans to visit the city for about a week, and go on ten dates her family had picked out, she tells the newspaper the Paper, according to The Guardian.

– I am starting to get older, and my family introduced me to ten matches. The fifth date wanted to show off his cooking, and invited me to his house for dinner, Wang says on the video blog.

However, the dinner date was to be longer than she had imagined. Because as the food was consumed, the area was subject to strict lockdown restrictions, and she could not leave the date’s home, writes The Guardian.

Went viral

It was thus not with one dinner at Wang and the date, and through several videos she has posted on the Internet, she documented the experience. The videos quickly went viral, and some have, according to The Guardian, had over five million views in China.

Everything from cooking to housework is documented.

– Even though his food is mediocre, he still wants to cook, and I think that is very nice, Wang says.

All the attention did not fall into good soil with the date, and the videos have now been removed, according to Wang.

– His friends have called him, so this has definitely affected his life. I have therefore taken them away, she says.

However, the lockdown date has not developed into a romance, Wang says.

Not the only one

According to BBC In recent days, more than 100 new cases of infection have been registered in Zhengzhou, and it is unclear whether Wang is still staying with the date.

However, she is not the only one who has ended up in a special situation as a result of the strict and sudden lockdown rules.

In December, similar restrictions were introduced in the city of Xi’an, when a man was in the middle of the move. According to the man, he did not even have time to take the luggage from his car, and had to ask neighbors if he could borrow a duvet, writes BBC.
