On Friday April 2nd, the British series The Serpent aka “The snake“Premiered outside of the UK. The miniseries will also be available for streaming on Netflix in Germany. The eight-part British series The Serpent deals with Charles Sobhraj (Tahar Rahim), who in the 1970s was known as the so-called bikini killer or “The Serpent“Became known and later lived as a celebrity in Paris before he was eventually convicted of a series of murders in Nepal. He pretended to be a gemstone dealer and traveled through Southeast Asia with his girlfriend Marie-Andree Leclerc (Jenna Coleman). They have on the so-called Hippie Trail Committed crimes and killed a number of western travelers.
Billy Howle is there as the Dutch diplomat Herman Knippenberg; Ellie Bamber is Herman’s wife Angela Knippenberg; Amesh Edireweera plays Ajay Chowdhury and Tim McInnerny plays Paul Siemons.
“The Serpent“As a project for BBC One and Netflix Mammoth Screen. Richard Warlow („Ripper Street“) Writes the episodes as a screenplay writer and Tom Shankland (“The Missing“) Stages them. The executive producers are Elizabeth Kilgarriff, Preethi Mavahalli, Shankland, Damien Timmer and Warlow.
