A traffic control in Bremen has escalated, with two police officers injured. A 35-year-old officer is in the hospital after being kicked in the head, the police said on Sunday. The driver was noticed by a civil police on Saturday because of his driving style. The 34-year-old driver reportedly got out of the car without shoes but with an alcohol flag. He took his cell phone to film and did not want to be checked.
According to the police report, he wanted to publish the video on the Internet. In addition, the driver is said to have shouted: “You can kill me right now. Put your knee on my neck.” The officers repeatedly asked the man to stop filming. To prevent him from escaping, handcuffs were put on him.
“Here he tried again and again to tear himself away and had to be brought to the ground,” says the message. The driver also reportedly kicked an officer in the head with full force, who defended himself “reflexively” with a slap in the face. The 40-year-old second officer was slightly injured in the attack and also had to retire. Additional officers overpowered the 34-year-old and took him to the police station, where a blood sample was taken. He came to a hospital for outpatient treatment.
