It is the biggest disruption at Euronext in two years. On October 29, 2018, trading on the Euronext stock exchanges was halted after a technical problem with so-called ‘market monitoring tools’. In September last year, Euronext temporarily halted trading in stock options on the stock exchanges in Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris.

Currently, trading in all stocks and derivatives has come to a halt. Trading on the Oslo stock exchange, also part of the Euronext collective, has not been affected by the problems.

Earlier this month, trading on the Tokyo stock exchange was suspended for one day. That was the biggest failure ever for the world’s third-largest securities market. The problems there were caused by a hardware failure, when the switch to backup systems failed.
