Trade unions ask Jambon to be a “corona hero”

With a joint advertising campaign, the three major unions are calling on Flemish Prime Minister Jan Jambon (N-VA) to be a “hero”, just like the employees who gave the best of themselves during the corona crisis. They do not have a concrete requirement. They do ask, however, that the Flemish government has “the necessary attention and appreciation” for employees. “Today’s heroes must not become the victims of tomorrow,” said the Christian, socialist and liberal unions in a statement.

The call comes in response to the September declaration next Monday. Then Jambon will give a speech in the Flemish Parliament to explain his policy and the budget. “We count on employees to be at the top of the list of priorities in the coming period,” says An Vermorgen (ACV). Caroline Copers (ABVV) also says this: “It is the employees, and especially those in the less paid jobs, who have kept the land straight. It is time for Flanders to take care of them. ”
