Toyota engineon December 5, the European division ofPrius plug-in hybrid](Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid) announced the details of the European specific car. The new Prius in Europe will be PHEV only.
The European version of the new Prius plug-in hybrid is equipped with a 2.0-litre in-line 4-cylinder petrol engine that develops a maximum power of 152 hp. The front-mounted engine has a maximum output of 163hp, and the entire PHEV system delivers 223hp of power.
The battery is a lithium-ion battery with a storage capacity of 13.6 kWh. Cruising range in EV mode is expected to reach a maximum of 69km for European specification vehicles. Equipped with an optional solar canopy, it should have the effect of extending the cruising range up to 8km.
