Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Toyota’s flagship car, the Avanza, was knocked out of the 10 best-selling car lists in Indonesia in August 2020. In July 2020, Avanza still held its 6th position as the best-selling car, but in August it bounced far to 17th.
In fact, the one perched at the top is the All New Nissan Livina, this Mitsubishi Xpander twin MPV has successfully become the best-selling car in Indonesia. This is in accordance with data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) showing wholesale sales figures (distribution from factories to dealers), as quoted from detikcom.
The All New Nissan Livina managed to top sales with 6,338 units. As a comparison, Avanza has sold only 474 units. As an illustration, the peak sales record for Avanza reached 213,458 units in 2013, or an average of more than 17,700 units a month. The car market is currently not normal, anything can happen.
