TOUR ONLINE: The last mountain stage! Will Roglic keep a minute lead?

Thursday’s Tour de France menu serves the last alpine battle of this year. Although the peloton does not expect a hell similar to Wednesday on the 175 km route from Méribel to La Roche-sur-Foron, the 18th part of the Old Lady will still not be a drive through the rose garden. Watch the course of the stage from 12.30 in a detailed report on Sport.cz.

On the way to the finish of the stage, cyclists have to overcome five mountaineering bonuses, including a six-kilometer climb of the highest category with an average slope of 11 percent to the Plateau des Gliéres, which was a key base for the Maquis during World War II. The ascent to the top, from which it is still thirty kilometers to La Roche-sur-Foron, spice up a nearly two-kilometer gravel section and the riders will have to cope with up to 15% of the hill in some places.

The leader of the Tour, Primož Roglič, in the royal stage on Wednesday with a twenty-kilometer climb to Méribel, increased the current lead to Tadeje Pogačar for almost a minute, and both Slovenian rivals agreed that the overall triumph is far from decided.
