Lorena Wiebes Wins Chaotic Tour de France Femmes Stage Three; marianne Vos Regains Yellow Jersey

Dutch rider Lorena wiebes out-sprinted Marianne Vos to claim victory in a chaotic third stage of the Tour de France Femmes. despite finishing second, Vos’ performance was enough to see her reclaim the coveted yellow jersey. The decisive sprint occurred in angers after a crash in the final three kilometers fractured the peloton.

Wiebes secured her fourth career stage win in the Tour de France femmes, adding to her two victories from 2022 and one from 2023. Vos, who had won the opening stage on Saturday, successfully took back the overall lead from Mauritian rider Kim le Court.

Defending champion Demi Vollering was among those caught in the crash. Though, she managed to continue and was awarded the same time as the leading group, as the incident happened within the final five kilometers, a rule that prevents riders from losing time in such circumstances.

Following these events, Vollering sits in sixth place in the general classification, 19 seconds behind Vos. The strong showing
