Toto Wolff critical of Ferrari’s behavior after Vettel’s departure

Last week, the major Formula 1 events followed in rapid succession. It started with Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari, who announced that they would split up after this season. Carlos Sainz soon followed, who announced that he would take over the Ferrari seat and Daniel Ricciardo who announced that he would take off with Sainz’s McLaren seat.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has little understanding of the fact that Ferrari, while there is still a whole season to finish, has decided not to continue with Vettel. At Mercedes they would never have handled it that way, the Austrian tells in conversation with ORF.

“We would never put ourselves in such a plight. It is a difficult story to employ a driver for an entire season who may be driving one of the competitors the following year,” Wolff explains. He does not see how that situation can be beneficial.

“What should you do with all the new information, new developments, new innovations, knowing that your driver can use everything against you the next season? That’s why they, but also the other teams that have already announced changes, are having a hard time parquet. A situation that we would not want to end up at Mercedes “, says the critic of the team boss of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas
