TOTEM – All times of radio

The .

Tarn and Garonne A galley day for motorists is announced in the Tarn-et-Garonne on Wednesday 8 December.

Farmers at the call of the FDSEA and the JA call to demonstrate this Wednesday, December 8 in and around Montauban. The requests concern exemptions from the tax on seasonal workers, increases in raw materials or even treatment areas on rivers. In response to this anger, tractors and trailers from all over the department will then converge on Montauban.

The surroundings of Montauban, the ring road and tolls involved

The tractors must meet at three points around Montauban from 9am: the large Aussonne roundabout, the Albasud roundabout and the Montbeton roundabout near the Bexianis estate. Suffice it to say that the roads leading to these roundabouts can be congested or even blocked. Farmers do not rule out filtering operations on some departmental axes. We are talking about department 70 which links Monclar-de-Quercy and Montauban. The old Parisian road between Caussade and Réalville could also encounter difficulties, as could the departmental road 958 between La-Ville-Dieu-du-Temple and Montbeton.

Galley on the A20 and A62 motorways

An alternative route will be set up for all motorists to bypass the city of Montauban:

– LMotorists coming from north to south via the A20 (direction Paris > Montauban)
· obligatory exit from the A20 > exit n°58 at Lalbenque (46)
· detour from the RD820, the RD653, the RD953 in the direction of Montcuq (46),
Lauzerte (82) then Valence d’Agen (82)

– Motorists coming from the south to the north via the A20 (direction Montauban > Paris)
· take the A62 towards Valence d’Agen > exit n°8
· take the RD953, RD653 and RD820 towards Lauzerte (82), Montcuq
(46), South Cahors (46)
. take the A20 through junction 58 at Lalbenque
· it will not be possible to take the exits 10/68 and 60 on the highway.

All Montauban schools are closed on Wednesdays

Following this demonstration, the Departmental Directorate of National Education decided to close all schools, colleges and high schools in Montauban. Dasen, Pierre Roques, justifies himself: “we are at level 3 of the anti-covid health plan and we have 160 teachers who come from outside Montauban. We don’t want to run the risk of having teachers blocked and absent and having to organize the mingling a few days before the end of the year’s holidays”. This Tuesday a decree will have to be taken from the Prefecture and a message sent to the parents of the students.

In addition, school buses are also suspended on some thirty lines in the Tarn-et-Garonne, announces the Occitanie region. A toll-free number has been set up: 0800 08 23 15.

The city center full of bunkers

This day will also be a testing ground for the new prefect of Tarn-et-Garonne, Chantal Mauchet. Agricultural unions are not ruling out actions around the prefecture, a regular target of spills in the past. As a result, traffic is completely prohibited on several streets in the city center from 8:00 on Wednesday morning:

The car parks that extend up to the quay area near the Territorial Departmental Directorate are also subject to prefectural prohibitions:

  • Via Santa Chiara

  • Verdun pier

  • Town Hall Street,

  • Via Notre Dame,

  • faubourg Lacapelle (from place Foch at n°100 faubourg Lacapelle).
