Total Czech loser! Poor jumps and even disqualification

Not one of the quartet of Czech national teams will start in Sunday’s inaugural race of the World Ski Jumpers’ season in Wisła. The closest to the progressive fifty was Viktor Polášek, who finished third in today’s qualification.

The Czech team is completing the beginning of the season without the long-time number one Roman Koudelka, who plans to return just before Christmas after a knee injury from training. Polášek jumped 109.5 m and his participation in the race in 53rd place escaped him by 2.3 points. Čestmír Kožíšek took 57th place, Vojtěch Štursa was two places behind him and Filip Sakala, who also held a non-promotion position, was disqualified for unsatisfactory overalls.

Polish star Kamil Stoch won the qualification. The three-time Olympic winner performed the longest jump of 132 meters on the home bridge.

The SP competition program will start the team race on Saturday.
