In the Crimea Iranian military advisers are killed. At the same time, all other Iranians in occupied Ukrainian territory who support an invasion of Moscow are automatically targeted for attack.
This was stated by the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksei Danilov, quoted by the Guardian.
According to him, the Iranians were present in Crimea to help Russia fly Shahed-136 armed drones supplied by the Iranian government.
Tehran initially denied the presence of Iranian drones in Ukraine and later said they had handed over to Russia “small number” of unmanned aerial vehicles months before Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The Iranian government also denies sending Iranian instructors to help the Russians fly drones from occupied territory.
Kiev has expressed disbelief in the Iranian version of events.
“The Iranians keep insisting that they are not suppliers of weapons to the Russian Federation, but we need confirmation. Do we have this confirmation today? No. We understand that these things don’t fly unless people learn how to operate them, but the Russians are not smart enough to figure it out themselves… In today’s world nothing can be hidden. It is only a matter of time before it is made public,” the NSZD secretary stressed.
On Thursday November 24, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov tried to blame Ukraine, saying that it could end all possible suffering of the civilian population if it met the “demands of the Russian side”. However, Danilov clarified that any further Iranian military presence would be “under fire”.
“You don’t have to be where you shouldn’t be. They were on our turf. We didn’t invite them here and if they collaborate with terrorists and participate in the destruction of our nation, we must kill them,” Danilov stressed.
