“We have already received nearly 1,700 orders since the weekend. We are only printing, preparing; it goes on. And people keep coming in the store, everyone wants to have shirts. ”
Lots of Energie
Today is the first day since ‘Robben-mania’ erupted that the fanshop is open. Due to corona, the store has limited opening hours, and is now only open Wednesday through Friday. Many customers find their way to the fan shop.
‘We still draw the crowds, it also gives a lot of energy. It is bizarre that this energy takes place throughout Groningen. Ten volunteers are downstairs and are packing orders. They do that with love, everyone wants to help. It is also very nice ‘, Van der Molen describes.
Almost only Robben
Almost only shirts by Arjen Robben – price tag: 73 euros for adults, 68 euros for children – are sold.
‘I happened to see one passing by this morning with Van Hintum on it. That is the first shirt for the season ’20 -’21 with a different name than Robben. That says something, this has brought about a lot, ‘says Van der Molen, while the phone rings again.
Take you on vacation
Ahead in the fanshop is a supporter who wants to buy two shirts for his children. ‘I ordered them online, but would like to see if the order is already ready. Then they can go on vacation. ”
Another fan of the club also wants a shirt: ‘I have been a fan of FC Groningen for years, but have never bought a shirt. Now is the time to do that. ”
