Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 – Warehouse Demo Preview – Accessible to beginners and veterans

Since August 14, anyone who pre-orders Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 can already get started with the Warehouse demo of the same game. This demo gives a little taste of what to expect later with the game’s official release in early September. It seems confident that Activision has dared to release a demo for this game early on. So we are going to work with this demo with high expectations.

What’s in the demo?

The Warehouse demo offers only limited possibilities compared to what we can expect in the final version. Only one level is offered, the Warehouse level. You can also only work with Tony Hawk himself and with just a single outfit and board. In that respect, especially what is NOT available yet offers a nice insight into what we can expect in the full game: many options are already present, but are still grayed out. One of the most important options that is still grayed out is the Challenges option. It will be important to unlock new possibilities for your player and to improve his / her performance. All those options are already in the menus but are not yet accessible.

No Challenges, but what then?

What the demo does offer is a single session through the Warehouse level. During a two-minute session you can completely lose yourself in this space filled with ramps, rails and more. The level is nicely recognizable full of street art and objects that can break. Don’t expect collectibles, but for the adventurous, the level is home to some exotic places, including a very challenging excellent structure right above two ramps. There are also a number of very highly placed ones ramps provide where you can try to recover.

Besides the layout of The Warehouse, all are special tricks to provide. For those who have never played a Tony Hawk game before: names like the nosegrab, manual, flip in lip tricks, ollies and Wall Plants come by regularly and will certainly be dizzy at first. The skate world is full of special terms for tricks and special ones moves. As a well-known skater you only mean something when you are a move named after you.

That doesn’t mean the game is inaccessible to beginners. In fact, even without any skate knowledge you can already have a great time in The Warehouse. Discovering all the possibilities, which button does what, how do you jump or grind, that is exactly what Pro Skate has always been about. In no time you string together a series of tricks that look super spectacular.

Then comes refining. How exactly do you perform that one special trick? Pro Skate players often talk about muscle memory and that certainly still applies here. Experienced players who have played the original will immediately feel at home and quickly get the tricks of the old days out of their controller.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 – Warehouse Demo Preview- A celebration of recognition

Activision has taken a risk by releasing a demo of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+ 2 weeks before release. If you don’t like the demo, then the suffering is incalculable. This shows confidence and that has proved right. Pro Skater plays wonderfully smoothly and because the basic tricks are easy to perform, the game can also be played well for beginners. Those who persevere afterwards and practice the special ‘signature moves’ will be rewarded with increasingly spectacular jumps and series.

The options that are not yet usable, including the challenges give a glimpse into what else we can expect in the full game in September. That also looks promising. Hopefully we will see each other soon on the skating rink!
