Tomorrow, the residents of Jūrmala and Tukums are invited to hand over the tires free of charge

According to expert estimates, more than 100 thousand tons of used car tires are currently stored in Latvia, and their number continues to grow. Over the past year, there have been a number of dangerous fires that have broken out in unauthorized tire storage areas, causing significant damage to the environment and endangering human lives.

In order to reduce the stockpile of used tires and promote their environmentally friendly recycling, AJ Power Recycling has been organizing an environmental campaign “Give tires a second life” for the third year in a row, informing the public about the dangers of used tires and recycling and reuse. During these campaigns, several hundred tons of used car tires are collected every year. This year, Scania Latvia and Schwenk Latvija have also joined the campaign, and within the framework of this, residents have the opportunity to transfer four used car tires from one household or car free of charge:

June 27 from 9.00 to 13.00, Jurmala, “Seaside”, Ventspils highway 61,

June 27 from 15.00 to 19.00, Tukums, “Seaside”, Dienvidu Street 1.

Residents who want to hand over more than four tires will be able to do so for an additional fee, according to the price list of the square.
