Tomáš Budník founded the investment group Thein

After managerial work in the PPF Group, Tomáš Budník decided to establish his own investment group Thein. It will focus mainly on established Czech and Slovak companies in the field of information technology, Budník announced.

Former Mountfield CEO Jana Moravová has become Thein’s boss. The group is particularly interested in the field of digital transformation with an emphasis on information infrastructure and cyber security.

“In Thein, we would like to develop companies that have been on the market for many years, but have reached, for example, a point from which they can no longer develop on their own or where there is a generational change of management,” Budník explained.

He also emphasized the role of corporate synergies. “We would like to combine their efforts with other exceptional companies and build a strong presence on the Czech and Slovak markets,” adds the group’s founder.

Thein Group was formed in April 2020. Until February of this year, Budník held the position of Technology Director of PPF’s telecommunications division. From 2014 to 2017, he served as CEO of O2 Czech Republic. At that time, it was undergoing restructuring and division, during which the infrastructure part was separated from the business part, thus creating CETIN.
