Indonesian mixed doubles pair, Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, in the second match of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza, Sunday (25/7/2021).

BOLASPORT.COM – The Indonesian mixed doubles pair, Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti, failed to advance to the semifinals Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti’s mission to continue the Olympic medal tradition of mixed doubles was stopped by the world number one pair from China, Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong.

Praveen/Melati lost two straight games with a score of 15-21, 15-21 at Musashino Forest Sport Plaza, Tokyo, Japan, Wednesday (28/7/2021).

With this result, Praveen/Melati will be eliminated and will return to the country without holding any medals.

Meanwhile, Zheng/Huang still have a chance to win a gold medal.

The course of the match

Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti opened the first game less well. They trailed 1-5 at the start of the match.

The only Indonesian representative was only able to add more points after Praveen’s hard smash could not be reached by Zheng.

However, Zheng immediately responded to Praveen’s action by releasing a sms towards Melati.

The score has now changed to 6-2 for Zheng/Huang’s advantage.
