Tokyo 2020 Olympic Medal Standings: China Overtakes Japan

Tokyo 2020 Olympics has entered the sixth day. China so far leads the medal standings, ahead of the United States and hosts Japan.

On Thursday (29/7/2021), China managed to add 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal. Swimming contributed two gold, followed by women’s singles table tennis which contributed one gold and one silver.

The Bamboo Curtain country has now collected 15 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze. Below him, there is Japan, which has also collected 15 gold medals, but only got 4 silver and 6 bronze.

Today, Sakura Country ‘only’ got two gold from judo and one bronze from women’s table tennis.

The United States is in third place with 14 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze. Uncle Sam’s country won seven medals today, with details of three gold, three silver and one bronze.

The Russian Contingent (ROC) added five medals today, consisting of one gold, one silver, and three bronze. They are now in fourth place with a collection of 8 gold, 11 silver, and 9 bronze.

Meanwhile, Indonesia is in 42nd place by collecting one silver and two bronze, all of them from weightlifting. This number is equal to Mongolia. So far, there have been 66 countries that have won medals in Indonesia Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
