“Only three or four people from the entourage of Russian President Vladimir Putin knew about the preparations for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Together with the head of the Russian Federation, they decided to start hostilities,” Ukrainian intelligence said.
“According to the data of Kyiv, one of these people is Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation,” said the Chairman of the GUR, Andrey Yusov, as quoted by UNIAN.
“Yes. In particular, Patrushev knew about Putin’s military plans,” said the representative of Ukrainian intelligence.

Yusov recalled Patrushev’s recent statements that the Russian Federation “saved the United States from collapse twice.” Also the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation spoke about the presence in Russia of a “unique weapon capable of destroying any enemy”.
“To a large extent, the decision to start a full-scale war is a consequence of their governance model. Modern Russia is a closed society, including within the dictatorial vertical: there is no discussion or plurality of opinions.
The decision is made by one person, not particularly educated and incompetent, and therefore the consequences are catastrophic for Russia,” Yusov stressed.
