In the Czech Republic, 305 more people passed on Sunday with a positive test for covid-19. The growth of more than three hundred was only the fourth time since the spread of the pandemic in the Czech Republic was confirmed, but the numbers have been growing significantly since Friday. However, epidemiologists assured at the weekend that the significant increase in the number of patients is not a sign of the return of the disease, but the result of intensive testing in the Karviná region.
According to the Ministry, the highest share of newly confirmed cases of infection per capita is currently in the Karviná district. In the last seven days, 181 positive cases per hundred thousand inhabitants have been confirmed. In the neighboring district of Frýdek-Místek, which is currently the second most affected region in the Czech Republic, there are 32 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants.
The Moravian-Silesian Region is currently the worst affected region and has overtaken Prague. Laboratories in the Moravian-Silesian Region have so far detected 2,644 infected, and there have been 2,506 in the capital so far.
