Brebes, Cakrawalanews.co— The health team from the Cikeusal Kidul Health Center, Keanggungan District, Brebes Regency, Central Java, carried out fogging and PSN (Mosquito Nest Eradication) in the SDN 3 Kubangsari neighborhood and housing residents of Dukuhwangon RT. 01 RW. 12, Kubangsari Village, Keuntungan, Wednesday (26/1/2022).
As stated by Aris Nurjaman as a health worker at the Cikeusal Kidul Health Center, the focus of fumigation and PSN is to eradicate the Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae which is the cause of dengue fever.
According to him, this activity is a follow-up to the findings of dengue cases that infected at least three students of SDN 3 Kubangsari in January 2022, namely Vanya Septi F (9), Sholeh (10), and Septiawan Andi R (10).
Aris added that fogging itself aims to eradicate adult mosquitoes or those that can fly and move from place to place, so PSN to eradicate mosquito larvae/children also needs to be done.
Meanwhile, the Danramil 15 Liability of Kodim 0713 Brebes through the local Babinsa, Serda Aryono Widodo, during fogging and PSN assistance, said the effort was to prevent dengue outbreaks in the assisted villages.
“We are also helping to socialize it to residents to eradicate mosquito nests with 3M Plus, namely draining water reservoirs, closing water reservoirs, and burying used goods. Then plus avoid mosquito bites while sleeping with anti-mosquito lotion / turn on mosquito coils and use mosquito nets,” he said.
He also asked the residents to clean the environment, including the waterways. The reason is, in the rainy season there are many places for mosquitoes to breed. (Tgh)
