Tixtla flower producers expect better sales this Day of the Dead

TIXTLA, Gro., November 1, 2021.- The aisles of the central market of Tixtla were filled with different colors, aromas and flavors due to the sale of flowers, fruits and breads that are used in the Day of the Dead offerings.

More than 30 farmers have moved their products from their fields to the center of Tixtla in the hope of selling marigold flower, velvet, cloud and pericón, colorful plants that now adorn the central market.

María Elena Cipriano Catarino, a flower producer who has been growing and selling in the Tixtla market for 15 years, reported that in 2021 cloud and daisy flowers were scarce in the fields of Tixtla, so she had to buy the flower.

Elena Cipriano compared her sales last year and this November and indicated that with the decrease in the Covid 19 pandemic, this 2021 she hopes to have better income.

Just like Elena and 30 other merchants from the center of Tixtla, who have been installed since October 30 for the Day of the Dead holiday, yearn for the arrival of customers from six in the morning.

In the central market of Tixtla you can find various products for offerings to loved ones who have already passed away, families from that municipality and surrounding places such as Apango, Chilpancingo and Mochitlán come to this place and thus preserve the tradition that honors death and celebrates life.
