Bus Overturn in⁤ Algeria ‌Claims Nine Lives, Injures Ten

Tebalbala, Algeria – December 6, 2025 – ‌A‍ bus accident in the Tebalbala region⁤ of Algeria has resulted in the deaths​ of nine people⁢ and⁣ injuries to ten others,‍ according to reports.‍ The incident, involving a bus deviating from its course and later overturning, occurred ‌on the RN 50 highway.

Civil Protection ‌units were⁢ promptly dispatched to the scene,‍ but rescue operations‌ are proving delicate‌ due⁣ to ​the nature of the accident.Emergency teams‍ are currently working to evacuate the victims.

Authorities have announced an examination, to be led by‍ the national Gendarmerie, to determine the‌ precise cause of the tragedy.

The accident underscores the persistent dangers of road ​travel in ⁤Algeria, particularly along the lengthy‌ routes of the Great⁤ South. ⁣the RN 50 is known for its hazardous ⁣conditions, including ​driver fatigue, excessive speed, road silting, and vehicle maintenance‌ issues.

This incident comes as Algerian Civil Protection⁢ reports a⁤ period of intense activity. Between ​December 5th and 6th, 2025, the General Management of⁢ Algerian Civil ⁣Protection⁣ recorded 2231 interventions nationwide⁤ – an average of one alert every 38 seconds.

Of these interventions, 116 ​ were related to traffic accidents, resulting in ‍ 2 fatalities and 146 injuries.Civil Protection also responded to 11 gas-related ⁣incidents, providing aid to 22 people, thankfully with no reported fatalities from asphyxiation.

Further interventions‌ included 1586 medical evacuations, ​ 38 responses to urban and industrial fires,⁤ and 439 miscellaneous accidents. Preventive coverage activities were also undertaken on‌ 33 occasions.
