Actor Arūnas Sakalauskas Opens Up About the Realities of New Fatherhood

The actor, who welcomed a son with partner Gabrielė Laubner on November 2, 2024, shared his experiences via a video posted to his Instagram account, revealing a humorous yet relatable outlook on the demands of early parenthood.
Sakalauskas’s openness comes as many new parents grapple with the frequently enough-unspoken difficulties of adjusting to life with a baby. In the video, Sakalauskas jokingly described the experience as feeling like the baby “signed a contract” to test his and Laubner’s limits, leading to sleepless nights and moments of frustration. “He was born and it seems like before being born he signed a contract stating - annoy them, drive them crazy, make them wake up at night for zombie gatherings, walk around, start getting angry at each other, blame each other for not taking care enough,” Sakalauskas quipped. He added, with a touch of irony, “And then there’s small print saying that if thay get divorced, he’ll triple the amount. Seems like he’s doing really well.”
Sakalauskas and Laubner successfully kept the pregnancy private untill announcing the birth of their son. The couple exchanged wedding vows on April 15, 2022, in Vilnius’s Bernardinų sodas (Bernardine Garden).
