new York, NY – A newborn baby girl was discovered ⁤abandoned Monday morning at the bottom of a staircase in a New York city metro station, authorities confirmed. The infant, wrapped⁣ in a blanket and with ‍her umbilical cord still intact, was found after an anonymous phone call was received‌ around 9:30 a.m.

Emergency services responded to the scene and provided‌ medical attention before transporting the child to a local hospital. Doctors report the baby’s condition is stable, and she is responsive and‍ conscious.

An examination is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the abandonment and to identify the individual(s) responsible.
