DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Florida Tech womenS rowing team concluded its fall campaign Saturday, November 8, at the Florida Fall Invite, highlighted by a thrilling head-to-head sprint victory over Jacksonville University.
The regatta featured both 5000-meter head races and 1000-meter sprint races, with competition from Jacksonville University, Stetson University, and Embry-Riddle university. Florida Tech’s performance marks the end of their fall season and provides a foundation for their spring schedule. The team will use the insights gained from this event to refine their training and strategy as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
In the women’s championship 8+ 5K Head Race, the Varsity 8 finished seventh, posting a time of 18:46.05. The team’s most exciting result came in a 1K sprint against Jacksonville, where they secured a win with a time of 4:21.02. Despite a mid-race challenge, the crew demonstrated resilience, quickly recovering their rhythm to overtake Jacksonville by five seconds.
The Varsity 8 lineup included Coxswain Mckenna Barr, Brynn Romberger (8), ashton Clark (7), Julia Pearson (6), Kiera Springer (5), Samantha Eisenhofer (4), Eliana Wilson (3), Maryam Young (2), and Ava Caruso (Bow).
Florida Tech will resume competition on Saturday, February 21, with a meet against Rollins College to begin the spring season.
