Jakarta – Persib Bandung midfielder Thom Haye addressed swirling speculation regarding potential candidates to lead the indonesian National Team, specifically mentioning Giovanni Van Bronckhorst. The comments come as the PSSI continues its search for a replacement following the departure of Shin Tae-yong in mid-October 2025.
Haye acknowledged being aware of the rumors but refrained from offering specific commentary, stating he would await an official announcement from the PSSI before responding further. “Just like you, I read a lot of rumors. I can’t do much about rumors,” Haye told journalists at the Indonesia Arena on Saturday, December 6, 2025. “We just need to wait for an official statement first, then we’ll start from there. I can’t mention specific names.”
The Indonesian national team has been without a head coach for approximately 1.5 months, causing the team to miss the November FIFA Matchday window. PSSI officials recently traveled to Europe to interview potential candidates, including Van Bronckhorst,Heimir Hallgrimsson, and Jesus Casas.Shin Tae-yong’s release stemmed from the team’s failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, a key target set by the PSSI.
