United Airlines Debuts No-Fee Debit Card Earning MileagePlus Miles
CHICAGO – November 21, 2024 – United Airlines today announced the launch of a new debit card offering MileagePlus members a way to earn miles on everyday purchases without annual or monthly fees.the United Gateway Debit Card, issued through Cross River Bank, aims to broaden access to the airlineS loyalty programme adn provide a new avenue for customers to accelerate mileage accrual.
This new card arrives as consumers increasingly seek alternatives to traditional credit cards, notably those burdened by fees. The United Gateway Debit Card allows customers to earn miles directly from their checking account balance,possibly appealing to those who prefer to avoid credit or are working to improve their credit scores. The launch underscores United’s commitment to enhancing the MileagePlus program and providing flexible options for earning rewards.
cardholders will earn 1 mile per $1 spent on eligible purchases. The card links directly to a new checking account at United, also offered today, which provides additional benefits like no overdraft fees and early direct deposit. Customers can apply for both the debit card and checking account through the United website or mobile app.
