Ukrainian forces are facing sustained russian attacks along multiple fronts, including intensified shelling in the north near Sumy and repeated attempted advances in the east and south, according too reports from the Ukrainian General Staff. These clashes come as the Kremlin assesses the new U.S. national security strategy as aligning with Russia’s own worldview.
The Ukrainian military reported over 160 shelling attacks north of Sumy, alongside airstrikes and shelling. Further south, near Kharkiv, six Russian advances were “arrested.” Fighting also continues around Kostiantynivka, Lyman, Sloviansk, Kupiansk, and Kramatorsk. In the Donetsk-Dnipropetrovsk border region, Russian forces attempted to advance 16 times toward Oleksandrivka.Southern fronts saw 14 attacks near Houliaïpole and one near Orikhiv.
The Kremlin’s assessment of the U.S. security strategy as “in line” with its own vision signals a potential for continued strategic competition, despite ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This alignment, as perceived by Moscow, may influence future diplomatic efforts and military posturing. The ongoing fighting underscores the immediate impact of geopolitical tensions on the ground, with Ukrainian forces actively defending against Russian offensives across a broad spectrum of the front lines.
