According to a report in the Daily Mail, Porter met Muhammad V through social media in 2018. She states that she believed she was entering a common-law marriage, unaware of the full implications of Islamic customary practices. She alleges the Sultan became distant, blocked her communication channels, and informed her of the relationship’s end via a message to her best friend.
“He was being distant with me and I was freaking out so I flew back to Malaysia – but he wasn’t there,” Porter told the Mail. “He blocked me on everything. He just texted my best friend saying it wasn’t going to work out.”
Porter claims she became pregnant during the relationship but suffered a miscarriage. “It was horrible,” she confessed.Despite the difficulties, she continued planning a wedding, traveling to California to consult with a planner, onyl to be abruptly cut off by the Sultan.
