Schertz Elects New Mayor, While Converse and Windcrest Voters Return Incumbents to Office
SCHERTZ, TX – In a surprising turn of events, David Rodriguez unseated three-term Schertz Mayor Ralph Beck, signaling a shift in leadership for the rapidly growing city. The final tally, with 5,973 ballots cast, showed Rodriguez prevailing over Beck, who had been seeking a fourth term.

in Converse, Al Suarez overwhelmingly won his 10th term as mayor, defeating challengers Emilio Silvas, Marc Gilbert, and John Shadron. Suarez secured 51.99% of the vote, with Silvas receiving 17.95%, Shadron 15.31%, and Gilbert 14.75%. His continued leadership provides stability for the city as it addresses issues of growth and community development.
Meanwhile, in Windcrest, dan Reese secured a fifth mayoral term, besting former mayor Alan E. Baxter and financial consultant Robert Maloy. Reese garnered 54% of the vote, while Baxter received 38.2% and maloy 7.8%. A former Windcrest city councilman, fire chief, and volunteer firefighter, Reese initially defeated Baxter in 2017 and continues to enjoy strong support from the community.
