RS Automation Launches ‘Robot Motion Foundry’ to Accelerate Korean Robotics with Physical AI
GUMI, SOUTH KOREA – RS Automation is launching a “Robot Motion Foundry” business centered around artificial intelligence-driven robotics components and system integration, aiming to establish a complete ecosystem for the Korean robotics industry. The initiative focuses on standardized AI drive modules, sensors, reducers, and collaborative development with members of the Robotics Components Company Council.
The move addresses a critical need for high-precision control in rapidly evolving fields like physical AI and humanoid robotics.RS Automation envisions a platform that extends beyond simple parts manufacturing, incorporating an AI feedback loop to collect, learn, and optimize robot performance in real-time – substantially boosting productivity and accuracy.
“The future of the robot industry lies in AI and data-based physical intelligence, and a robot foundry that combines software, hardware, and AI will become the core infrastructure for the independence of the Korean robot industry,” said Deok-Hyeon Kang, CEO of RS Automation, positioning the company to become the “TSMC of the Korean robot industry.”
The foundry will support robot startups, research institutions, and finished product manufacturers by providing access to standardized modules and an AI platform, eliminating the need for extensive in-house production facilities. RS Automation is already collaborating with Ambi robotics of the United States on an AI robotics logistics system, and anticipates the foundry will strengthen this global network, establishing the company as a physical AI hub.
The company plans to facilitate batch development and production, enabling smaller parts companies to scale into larger markets. This initiative builds on ongoing joint development and standardization projects with industry partners, creating a collaborative ecosystem for innovation in robotics.
