Title: PS5 Game Canceled Over AI Concerns, Community Backlash

PS5 ‌& PS4‘s Postal: Bullet Paradise Canceled After AI ⁢Usage Accusations

A⁣ new Postal ‍ game, Postal: Bullet Paradise, has been ⁢swiftly ⁤canceled just two days‌ after its announcement due to community backlash ⁢over suspected heavy⁤ reliance on ‍generative AI. The title, a “bullet heaven” style game inspired by Vampire Survivors, was slated for release ⁣on PlayStation 5⁣ and PlayStation 4.

Publisher Running with‌ Scissors made the decision ⁢after an “overwhelmingly ‌negative” response⁢ to the reveal trailer, which many viewers ‌identified ⁤as containing⁢ AI-generated elements, particularly in the voice work and non-gameplay art.⁣

“After revealing POSTAL:⁤ bullet Paradise,⁤ a title Running With Scissors was planning on⁢ publishing but not developing, we’ve been⁣ overwhelmed with ⁢negative responses from our concerned POSTAL Community,” stated‍ Running with Scissors founder⁣ Vince Desi. “The ⁤strong feedback from them is that elements of the ‍game are very likely AI-generated⁣ and‍ thus has⁣ caused extreme ‍damage to ⁢our brand and our company reputation. ‍We’ve always ‌been, and will ⁢always be, ‍transparent with our community. Our trust⁣ in the⁣ advancement team is broken; therefore,we’ve killed the project.”

The game‍ was being developed by‍ Goonswarm Games. ‌Desi emphasized the importance‌ of the ‌ Postal fanbase, stating, “Since ‌forming Running ⁣With Scissors in ⁢1996,‌ we’ve ⁣always said⁣ that our fans‍ are part of the ⁤team. our priority is to always do ⁣right by the⁤ millions who ‌support the POSTAL franchise.”

The cancellation ‌comes amid growing scrutiny of AI’s role in game development. This year, titles like call ⁣of‍ Duty: Black ‍Ops 7 and ARC Raiders ⁤have ⁤faced criticism ⁤for utilizing AI tools during production. Running ‌with ‌Scissors indicated⁢ they are focusing on future projects and updates planned ⁣for 2026⁤ and beyond.
