Paris Police Reports: November 13, 2025 - Assault & Evasion of Arrest Highlight Recent Activity
Paris, TX – two separate investigations culminated in arrests for Paris Police on November 13, 2025, ranging from a violent assault requiring hospitalization to an attempt to evade law enforcement. The incidents underscore ongoing efforts to address both violent crime and environmental offenses within the city and surrounding areas.
The arrests – one stemming from a home invasion and the other from an attempted traffic stop - represent a snapshot of the diverse challenges faced by the Paris Police department. authorities continue to investigate the assault case,with a second suspect already apprehended out of state,while the illegal dumping case highlights a growing concern for environmental protection in Lamar County.
On November 13,officers arrested robert James Horton (52) after he attempted to elude an officer from the NE Texas Auto Theft Task Force. The officer, responding to an outstanding warrant for Illegal dumping, observed horton driving on FM 137.Horton pulled behind a residence in the 3300 block of FM 137 in an attempt to avoid contact, but was located and arrested for the warrant, related to dumping over 200 lbs of waste. Horton was booked and transferred to County Jail.
Also on November 13, Paula Jean Smith (49) of Paris was arrested in the 2100 block of E Cherry St. on an outstanding warrant for Injury to a Child or Elderly or Disabled Individual, a Felony.The arrest follows a November 12 incident where Smith and other suspects allegedly assaulted a 66-year-old victim in his home,resulting in injuries that required hospital treatment. Robriiceson Rayshun Savage, a second suspect in the assault, was arrested in Choctaw County, Oklahoma, in connection with the same incident.
During this reporting period, officers conducted 18 traffic stops, made 5 adult arrests, and responded to 72 calls for service. Investigations remain ongoing in both the assault and illegal dumping cases.
