House of Torture Retains IWGP Junior Tag Team Championships at NJPW Road to KOPW
TOKYO – House of Torture (Sho & douki) successfully defended their IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against El Desperado & Kuukai at today’s NJPW Road to King of Pro Wrestling event. The match, contested under standard professional wrestling rules, concluded with a controversial roll-up victory for House of Torture.
The bout saw a brutal back-and-forth exchange. Desperado initially gained the upper hand, but Douki ambushed him on the outside while Sho choked Kuukai with cloth. Sho and Douki then focused their attack on Desperado’s arm, driving his pelvis into the ring post and torquing the limb. Kuukai briefly rallied with a Double Flying crossbody and a Tornado Suicida, followed by a Tornado DDT, but sustained damage throughout the match from Douki’s Darkness Stretch.
Desperado fought out of Sho’s armbreaker, attempting a Numero Dos before improvising with a different leg hold. A spear from Sho and a Spinebuster delivered to Douki allowed Desperado to tag Kuukai, who delivered an inverted Slingblade. Kuukai evaded Douki’s swinging pipe and nearly secured a pinfall from a moonsault. However, with the referee distracted, Douki sent Kuukai into the ropes, where Sho connected with his black mirror finisher. The subsequent roll-up secured the title retention for House of Torture.
