Musk Calls on microsoft CEO to Investigate Employees Over Kirk Remarks
PROVO, Utah – Tesla CEO Elon Musk has publicly demanded Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella investigate Microsoft employees who allegedly criticized conservative activist Charlie Kirk following his death on october 10th (local time). The call for investigation stems from posts made on X (formerly Twitter) celebrating or mocking Kirk’s passing.
Musk tagged Nadella in a post on X, questioning the conduct of employees within Microsoft’s Blizzard Game Division who made the comments. He shared screenshots and a developer’s name, asking, “What is happening here, @satyanadella?” and adding, “These are Microsoft employees.” Musk’s posts focused on what he characterized as widespread censorship targeting Republican members and those critical of Kirk.
Republican Congressman Clay Higgins of Louisiana stated he would seek to permanently ban any online posts mocking Kirk’s assassination, utilizing both congressional influence and pressure on major technology platforms.
Former Blizzard developer Mark Kern, known online as “Grummz” and a frequent commentator on right-wing issues, initially highlighted the posts in question, labeling the employees’ comments as “garbage.” Musk then quoted Kern’s post while directly addressing Nadella.
Microsoft responded with a statement posted on its official X account (@microsoft), acknowledging awareness of the employee opinions. The company stated that remarks praising violence against anyone are “unacceptable and do not meet our values.” However, Nadella has not publicly responded directly to Musk.
