Mumford & Sons Debut New Collaboration with Hozier During World Tour
Mumford & Sons surprised fans with a new song, “Rubber Band Man,” featuring a studio collaboration with Hozier, while continuing their world tour in support of the album RUSHMERE. The release marks the first time the two acts have officially recorded together, building on a history of shared performances.
This collaboration arrives as Mumford & Sons navigate a busy touring schedule, and hints at a potential wealth of unreleased material recorded with producer Aaron dessner of The National. The band’s willingness to experiment and invite other artists into their creative process underscores their continued evolution and commitment to delivering fresh music to their fanbase.
The new track was produced by Dessner at his Long Pond Studio in Hudson, New York. According to a statement, the band recorded a critically important amount of material during these sessions, leaving “the studio door open at Long Pond” for future collaborations. Hozier’s contribution is described as “the first meaningful connection of many studio collaborations.”
Dessner’s involvement isn’t new; he previously worked with Mumford & Sons on their 2015 album, Wilder Mind. Prior to “Rubber Band Man,” Hozier and Mumford & Sons shared the stage at the 2015 Bonnaroo festival for a cover of The Beatles’ “A Little help From My Friends,” and again at the Austin City Limits festival in 2023.
Mumford & Sons will conclude the North American leg of their 2025 tour on October 26th in Omaha, Nebraska. Following this, they will embark on a 22-date tour of the U.K. and Europe, culminating with two shows at the O2 in London on December 10th and 11th. The band will return to the U.S.for a performance at the wild Horses Festival in San Diego on December 27th, followed by appearances at Noah Kahan’s Out of the Blue festival in Cancun in early January and the innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona, in late February.
