São Paulo, Brazil – Consumers in Brazil, Turkey, Japan, and South Korea face significantly higher prices for Apple’s new M5 iPad Pro compared to buyers in other regions, new data reveals.Turkey has experienced the most dramatic price increase - a staggering 597.74% jump over the past five years since Apple’s initial M-series iPad pro launch. This disparity highlights the impact of economic factors and currency fluctuations on tech pricing globally, potentially forcing consumers to consider importing or delaying purchases.
The price surge affects a broad range of consumers, from students and creative professionals to everyday users seeking Apple’s premium tablet experience. While Brazil’s prices have remained relatively stable with an increase of around 15% over the same period, the ample increases in other nations underscore the growing cost of Apple products in certain markets. This trend is especially relevant now as Apple rolls out its latest iPad Pro featuring the M5 chip, enhanced connectivity, and improved storage speeds.
According to data compiled by Nukeni, Japan has seen a 78.06% price increase on the iPad Pro since the M1 model, followed by South Korea at 60.06%.These increases are attributed to factors like import duties, taxes, and unfavorable exchange rates.
Conversely, the most affordable locations to purchase the new iPad Pro are the United States ($999 + tax), Hong Kong ($1,030), Canada ($1,046), Malaysia ($1,065), and Taiwan ($1,073).
Apple’s M5 iPad Pro boasts new features including the N1 modem for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and the C1X chip for 5G connectivity,alongside faster SSD read and write speeds. All prices referenced are in US dollars.
