BISMARCK, N.D. – Teh Minot State University track and field teams launched their 2025-26 indoor season Saturday at the Mike Thorson open, hosted by the University of Mary, with strong performances from senior Summer Krebsbach and redshirt freshman Samuel butikofer. Both Beavers secured third-place finishes in multiple events, signaling a promising start to the year.Krebsbach, a key member of the women’s team, demonstrated her speed in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, finishing third in each. She qualified for the 60-meter finals with a preliminary time of 7.74 seconds before completing the race in 7.87 seconds. Her 200-meter time was 26.31 seconds. On the men’s side, Butikofer made an impressive collegiate debut, clearing 6 feet, 2.75 inches in the high jump to claim third place.
True-freshman Jamie Ward also contributed for the Beavers, finishing eighth in the women’s shot put with a throw of 37 feet, 3 inches.
The Beavers will continue their indoor season before the christmas break at the Dakota Alumni Classic, hosted by North Dakota State in Fargo, north Dakota. The early-season results provide a foundation for continued growth and competition as the team progresses through the indoor schedule.
